Visiting the Florida Buddhist Monastery
Temporarily Closed — Reopening January 10, 2026
The Florida Buddhist Monastery (Tayzawbatha Vihara, Inc.) in Geneva, Seminole County, is temporarily closed and will reopen to the public on January 10, 2026.
Located just northeast of Orlando, the monastery offers a quiet refuge for meditation, study, and the practice of Theravāda Buddhism.
Visiting Guidelines
When open, visitors are welcome to come for morning alms offerings or to participate in meditation and Dhamma discussions.
Please help maintain the peaceful atmosphere of the monastery by observing the following guidelines:
- 🚺 Female Visitors: Women are kindly requested not to visit alone.
- 🧍 children: Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- 🕊️ Clothing: Please wear modest, white, or light-colored attire.
- 🤫 Silence: Maintain quiet within the main building and meditation areas.
- 🛏️ Overnight stays: May be available for sincere practitioners by prior arrangement.
- 🚭 Restrictions: Smoking, alcohol, and loud music are not permitted anywhere on the property.
